THE HOTEL
The Peabody Little Rock is a completely reconstructed, renovated, remodeled and
redecorated hotel within Peabody Hotel Group and draws on the decades-long expertise
and reputation of the South’s Grand Hotels, The Peabody Memphis and The Peabody Orlando.
This bright new star on the banks of the Arkansas River is quickly earning a
reputation as one of America’s premier convention hotels in all facets of its
operations.
The Peabody Little Rock now flies the Peabody flag on the space originally
occupied by the old Marion Hotel, and since 1982, Arkansas’ Excelsior Hotel.
REDECORATION
NIn the fall of 2000, Peabody Hotel Group began a $40-million major
reconstruction and redecoration program to totally upgrade Arkansas’
Excelsior Hotel to Peabody standards. The results speak for themselves.
PHG engaged the services of Wilson & Associates of Dallas, TX., an
internationally acclaimed interior design and architecture firm specializing
in hospitality design. Incorporated in 1978, Wilson & Associates has
maintained a design philosophy over the past twenty years, which has
characterized it as an innovative, creative, company which takes pride
in matching unique projects to specific requirements. Geographical flavor
is infused into each project, using local craftsmen, artisans and artists.
Architectural detail is custom-designed, and a theme established that ties
in furniture, lighting, carpets and fabrics
RECONSTRUCTION
The Peabody Little Rock, (formerly Arkansas’ Excelsior Hotel), is the
result of a $40-million reconstruction / redecoration program.
The reconstruction was carried out by Metro Construction LLC, based in
Memphis, TN., which won the "Design of the Decade" for Peabody Place in
downtown Memphis, TN.
